most if not all monthly updates this year have gone live on the second Thursday of every month so the answer to the previous question should be obvious which is next week. It seems everyone is annoyed at anet right now. I just hope that next week anet can change things around if only slightly.

they will be fixed 1 year after GW2's release. and that will force the last remaining population to quit so Anet can shut down GW1 servers to save some money so they can begin work on GW3.

Or so my crystal ball says. I wonder if it still is under warranty.

Actually, it's a tie. 2 were on the 1st Thursday, 2 were on the 2nd Thursday, and one was partly first and party 2nd (May)

That being said...

I went and did some research on the question of 1st or 2nd Thursday. Here's What I found. Going back to January 2008, there have been 17 regular monthly updates. Of those 17:

*13 of them were done on the Thursday after the first Sunday
* One was done on the Wednesday after the 1st Sunday. (Sept '08)
* Two were split, but the first part came on the Thursday after the first Sunday with the second part (skill updates) the 2nd Thursday. (June '08 & May '09)
* One was done on the first Thursday before the first Sunday (April '08)

So, I think it's fairly safe to expect the monthly update to be on the Thursday following the first Sunday - regardless of whether it's the first of Sencond Thursday of the month.

P.S. It looks like the June '09 is following the same pattern.
